The Division of the Dean of Undergraduates (DOU) is responsible for supporting the undergraduate experience at Rice. The dedicated staff and faculty members who serve within the division work to foster an enriched student experience and to build communities through the residential colleges and campus-wide programs. Additionally, the division works to foster outstanding teaching through the support and development of faculty and graduate students on campus who contribute to the academic mission of the university. The DOU strives to support and retain students with a culture of care and an awareness of individual challenges. DOU staff aim to support student success and leadership, creating curricular and co-curricular opportunities to engage students within the Rice community and beyond.
